First Miserably Wet Day of the Season

I'd promised myself awhile back that the first rainy day I'd wear my mom's bright yellow gumboots to uni. I made this decision because I'm both fed up with wet feet and ankles and I'm trying to work more colour into my life. Here's the closest approximation to the result i can create on Polyvore:

last year in our Style class our teachers had I find people in the street to photograph, anyone interesting looking or very trendily dressed. I figure this would be a good thing to keep up.

the other day in the tunnel from Central station i saw this girl talking ahead of me.

Not the clearest photos as i was using my iphone and too embarrassed to stop her to ask to take proper one. But i think you get the gist of the look.

Quick update during study break

Pretty much busy freaking out designing Versace Merry-Go-Round menswear (and yes that is my probably incorrect prediction for AW2011) and taking a quick break so figure i'd better update this with a quick Tartan Tuesdays post :p

Awesome Op-shop Luck

In the last week i've finally had time to do a bit of opshopping, it's been months mostly due to lack of funds. Found some pretty cool stuff for winter.

Though you can't tell from the picture, it's actually metallic silver. Quite warm. I thought it'd be a fun way to brighten up my winter wardrobe since all my other jumpers are quite dark.

Short sleeved knit coat/cardigan with big wooden buttons. Too cute and works so well over dresses given how hot and cold damned Sydney weather is.

Soft voluptuous green top with a huge black velvet bow that sits on top of your breasts. Found this just in time for St Patricks Day, i pretty much have nothing green in my wardrobe. Definitely the sort of top that works best with a waisted skirt.

Tartan 80's Jacket! Finally i have a tartan jacket to add to my collection of tartan things. It's quite tempting to do a post a day of all my tartan clothing. I'm a little obsessed. Anyways, I plan to wear this over little dresses with tights for winter with long dangly necklaces.

And those are my most recent finds. I sometimes have the best luck op-shopping.

Terrible Shop Display Fashion

Was killing time wandering Habourside in Darling harbour and saw this horrible example of mannequin styling. 

It brings to mind that terrible period when exposed g-strings were popular. Please tell me i won't have to see this awful trend on every second girl i walk past. Just opens the door for a terrible new kind of muffin top.
